Enchiladas

Hey everyone, it is John, welcome to my recipe page. Today, I’m gonna show you how to prepare a special dish, enchiladas. It is one of my favorites. For mine, I’m gonna make it a little bit unique. This will be really delicious.

I've begun making my enchiladas casserole style, which saves a lot time, not to mention burned fingers. :) However, everyone still raves over my enchiladas, and this recipe recently earned a round of applause when I made them on a skiing holiday. The sauce is actually a modified Alfredo recipe and is also great over fajitas. Spread a layer of the sauce on the bottom of the dish before inserting the enchiladas to prevent them from sticking.

Enchiladas is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods in the world. It’s appreciated by millions every day. It’s simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. They are fine and they look fantastic. Enchiladas is something that I have loved my whole life.

To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can have enchiladas using 12 ingredients and 7 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Enchiladas:
  1. Get enchiladas
  2. Prepare 1 lb ground beef
  3. Get 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  4. Get 12 each white corn tortillas
  5. Make ready 1 envelope Taco seasoning (or you can season with chili powder, onion powder and garlic salt)
  6. Prepare 1/2 cup olive oil (to fry tortillas)
  7. Prepare enchilada sauce
  8. Prepare 1 envelope enchilada sauce seasoning (I use lawrys)
  9. Get 29 oz can of tomato sauce
  10. Get optional toppings
  11. Prepare 1 can black olives

Enchiladas con mole, instead of chili sauce, are served with mole, and are also known as enmoladas. Enchiladas placera are Michoacán plaza-style, made with vegetables and poultry. Enchiladas poblanas are soft corn tortillas filled with chicken and poblano peppers, topped with oaxaca cheese. Pour in the red sauce, chicken broth, cilantro, salt and pepper.

Steps to make Enchiladas:
  1. Gather ingredients
  2. In a medium sauce pan combine tomato sauce and the envelope of enchilada sauce seasoning. Cover with a lid and cook on low while you do step 2.
  3. In a frying pan brown ground beef as you would if you were making tacos. Add taco seasoning and a small bit of water. Cook until no longer pink. As the beef is cooking do step 4
  4. Heat olive oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot fry tortillas one at a time. Only leave the tortilla in the pan long enough to make it soft. Do not over cook to where it is crispy.
  5. After tortillas, beef, and sauce is cooked it is time to roll the enchiladas. Wait for 10 minutes after everything is cooked to begin this process as it will all be very hot and you will have to use your hands.
  6. Coat the bottom of a 9x13 casserole dish with enchilada sauce. Take a tortilla and dip both sides into the sauce so that both sides of the tortilla have some sauce on them. Place in the dish and add a spoonful of beef to the center of the tortilla. Add a sprinkle of cheese and roll seam side down. Continue this process until you are out of tortillas and beef.
  7. Once all of the enchiladas have been rolled top with sauce and cheese as well as optional toppings. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes or until cheese on top is bubbly.

Arrange the enchiladas in a baking dish. You can either place the chicken enchiladas seam-side-up or seam-side-down. Then pour any remaining sauce on top of the enchiladas and sprinkle on some extra cheese. Bake uncovered until the enchiladas are cooked through and the edges of the tortillas get slightly crispy. Top with remaining enchilada sauce and cheese.
